On February 24, Patriot Mobile proudly sponsored the first-ever Babylon Bee Live event in Fort Worth, Texas! Over a thousand Bee fans filled the River Ranch Stockyards for the sold-out event, enjoying an evening of laughter, discussion, food, and satire from many popular Babylon Bee personalities.
Founded in 2016, The Babylon Bee is committed to delivering “fake news you can trust”! The Christian satire site brings humor and truth to the crazy news cycle, garnering millions of monthly views and clicks. With every important news story, you can count on the Bee to release a hilarious take on it!
Seth Dillon, CEO of The Babylon Bee, took the stage, sharing the humble beginnings of the Bee and how it has exploded in growth and popularity over the last few years.
But it hasn’t been without bumps along the way. In March 2022, Twitter suspended the popular website’s account for “hateful conduct” after it posted a satirical article titled, “The Babylon Bee’s Man Of The Year Is Rachel Levine.” Twitter wrote to the Bee saying their account would be reinstated if they deleted the offending tweet. Not backing down, Seth Dillon and the company refused to self-censor. “We’re not deleting anything. Truth is not hate speech. If the cost of telling the truth is the loss of our Twitter account, then so be it,” he said.
In a providential twist of events, Elon Musk, the richest man on earth, bought Twitter later that year. One of the first things he did after taking over the company was bringing back the Bee! We applaud the Bee for standing on the truth and not succumbing to censorship. Since then, The Babylon Bee has grown even more!
The evening continued with a podcast recording featuring Editor-in-Chief Kyle Mann, Kira Davis, Brandon Toy, and actress Chandler Juliet. The audience also enjoyed several live comedy segments and exclusive content that premiered that evening.
While The Babylon Bee is a parody website, it’s ironic how many of their satirical headlines have become prophecies fulfilled!
