Texas Republicans Stand Strong on Conservative Values
This month, Patriot Mobile proudly sponsored the Texas Republican Party Convention in Houston, which happens to be the biggest GOP convention in the country. The Patriot Mobile team joined 5,000 delegates who were excited to meet together in-person for the first time since 2018.
The delegates in attendance elected their party leaders for the next two years. They also voted on key issues concerning the Texas Republican Party platform and set the legislative priorities that will guide the party’s advocacy. Chief among the concerns of the delegates was the issue of election integrity. In response, the party proposed a first of its kind election integrity effort to ensure that every legitimate vote counts in future elections. The party also called for Texas public schoolchildren “to learn about the humanity of the preborn child,” amongst other conservative proposals.
As a major sponsor, Patriot Mobile had the biggest booth in the exhibit hall, where we were blessed with the opportunity to speak with thousands of Texas Republicans from all over the state.
On Friday, we were honored to host Senator Ted Cruz at our booth for a special signing of his bestselling book, One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History. Attendees waited in line for hours to meet Senator Cruz after his fiery speech Friday morning. At Patriot Mobile, we understand the importance the Supreme Court plays in our government, which is why we gave away 500 signed copies of this important book during the book signing.
On Saturday, we were honored to host another special guest: Senator Jim DeMint for a special signing of his novel, Satan’s Dare. Senator Jim DeMint also joined us as the keynote speaker for the GOP gala, which Patriot Mobile hosted.
Matt Rinaldi, Chairman of the Texas Republican Party, also stopped by the Patriot Mobile booth. Leigh Wambsganss, VP of Government and Public Affairs at Patriot Mobile and Executive Director of Patriot Mobile Action, asked him pertinent questions about the convention, election integrity, and why it’s so important to get out the vote in the November midterm election.
During the convention, Patriot Mobile sponsored two ‘lunch and learn’ sessions for the delegates. We hosted a session on ‘Critical theory, Marxism and the sexualization of our children.’ Leigh Wambsganss led the panel, joined by Mary Elizabeth Castle from Texas Values and Rebekah Warwick from Heritage Action. They gave a robust presentation to a packed room, touching on various topics including:
- How to find dangerous curriculum via public information requests
- Ways to get involved with the State Board of Education
- How to fight back against the leftist fake news
- How to stand strong against the attacks
- How to win elections
“The left thought their attacks would make these women cower,” Wambsganss said. “But instead they created mama bears!” To this, the crowd erupted in applause. Delegates left energized and equipped to fight woke politics in education. Even homeschool and private school parents realized the importance of staying engaged in the public school arena because public school kids will be the majority of the population their own kids will do life with.
Patriot Mobile hosted another session on ‘The Federal Debt,’ led by Kevin Freeman, Congressman Louie Gohmert, and Ben Ferguson. They discussed the rapidly growing federal debt and the risk it creates. Kevin Freeman recounted how quickly the debt has grown from $1 trillion in 1980, to over $10 trillion in 2008, to $20 trillion in 2017, and now exceeds $30 trillion. Congressman Gohmert explained the federal addiction to deficit spending. Ben Ferguson showed how the Covid relief wealth transfer stoked both inflation and the deficit, issues that Americans are suffering from today. The panel agreed that the current Democrat policies are destroying our nation’s future. The solution? Spend less and unleash growth through tax reform and lower regulations.
They say, “As Texas goes, so goes the nation.” If that’s true, we are highly encouraged by what the Texas Republican delegates accomplished over this weekend. We were blessed to have been there to make connections with so many patriots and to have sponsored the GOP convention to help make it a huge success.
